Teen boy fatally shot in ambush at Bronx deli

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in the Bronx on Tuesday night, reportedly after a group of young men trailed him to a deli.

The teen was shot at West 170th Street and Ogden Avenue in the Highbridge section around 8:15 p.m.

As the victim came out of Big Sal Deli Grocery, he was punched in the face by someone in a group of seven, according to the Daily News. As he tried to fight back, a second person shot him, a deli worker said.

NYPD officers responding to a 911 call found the teen with a gunshot wound to his chest. Video shows an ambulance and NYPD officers at the scene.

EMS rushed him to Lincoln Hospital, but he did not survive. His identity has been withheld pending the notification of his family.

No arrests have been reported as of Wednesday.
