The attack occurred just after 4 p.m. while the MTA worker was driving the BX18 bus along East 170th Street. A man and a woman attempted to board the bus while it was between stops but the bus driver did not open the doors, police said.

Both suspects followed the bus on foot to its next stop—East 170th Street and Walton Avenue—where the female suspect got on and threw an unknown liquid in the bus operator’s face, authorities said.

After exiting the bus, the driver was knocked to the ground, punched and kicked by the duo before they fled the scene, cops said.
