NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 61-year-old cab driver was assaulted and robbed by two teen passengers in Brooklyn last month and police are searching for the teens they say are responsible.
The robbery happened on Nov. 22 around 3:30 p.m. after the driver picked up the two suspects at 662 Riverdale Avenue in East New York, authorities said.
After a few blocks of driving, the boys got out of the cab. One of the teens proceeded to open the driver’s side door and punch the driver in the left arm, according to officials.
The thieves then stole $20 cash from the car’s center console before fleeing the scene toward New Lots Avenue.
The victim refused medical attention at the scene. Cops said the suspects are likely between 15 and 17 years old.
