
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials took a teen boy into custody on Sunday night after fatally stabbing his sister at her home in Brooklyn, according to authorities.
On Sunday, July 24, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress at Beverley Road near E. 48th Street in East Flatbush.
Upon arrival, police observed 26-year-old Shanelle Colquhoun with stab wounds to her neck and arms, the NYPD said.

EMS transported Colquhoun to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Kings County, where she was pronounced dead.
A 17-year-old boy was taken into police custody with charges pending, cops said.
The teen may have been an “emotionally disturbed person”, authorities said.
The investigation is ongoing.
