NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The owner of an East village deli has complained that police have ignored his reports of a group of teens repeatedly harassing and attacking workers in the store for months, according to a report from the Daily News.
According to the report, Jay Patel, owner of Sheen Brothers Deli located at 157 Avenue B, says he has called the police several times about the teens to no avail.

“I was calling the police officers every day. Those kids come in the store,” Patel told the outlet. “Sometimes, they have a metal rod, and sometimes, a baseball bat. ... The police say they can’t do anything.”
The teens are seen repeatedly punching a clerk in the face in surveillance footage, before they try to push their way into the store while workers defend the doorway.
In another video, a teen is seen striking an employee with a stick.
A third video shows the teens throwing a metal can and a tray of energy bars at an employee’s head.
Patel said he has spent $7,000 on an automatic gate and a buzzer system as extra security and now customers must be buzzed in and out of the deli.
