NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is looking to identify a man accused of stealing nearly a dozen chains from a Lower East Side jewelry store on Tuesday, authorities said.
The incident happened at approximately 6 p.m. when the suspect entered West Point Jewelry store located at 101 Clinton Street and asked to see assorted jewelry, the officials said.

According to police, the suspect then snatched the jewelry from the employee's hand and demanded the door be opened.
The suspect then broke the door and fled on foot northbound on Clinton Street then eastbound on Rivington Street, officials said.
The items removed were approximately 11 assorted 14K chains valued at approximately $50,000.
There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
Authorities describe the suspect as a male, dark complexion, approximately in his 30's, 6'0" tall, 180lbs. with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a Rugrats hoodie sweater with orange Nickelodeon on the back, Rugrats Chuckie face on the front, black sweatpants, white sneakers, black mask, and eyeglasses.
