Man scales fence to break into UWS building, steals $14K in jewelry: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are looking for a man behind a Manhattan robbery that cost the victim thousands in expensive jewelry.

On Dec. 6 at 5 p.m., a man broke into a residence near West 85th Street and Riverside Drive on the Upper West Side.

Police said the suspect entered the 45-year-old man’s apartment by climbing a fence connected to a balcony located in an adjacent alleyway.

The suspect broke a window to get inside, and then took $14,000 worth of jewelry, cops said.

The man exited out the same broken window and fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a male wearing a gray hat, dark scarf, black coat, blue jeans and gray shoes.
