NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — On Nov. 9, 2020, a building superintendent in the Bronx made a horrific discovery in an alley — the bodies of two newborn twin boys in garbage bags.

Two years later, no arrests have been made in the case out of Claremont Village.

Police, clergy and the public held a candlelight vigil Wednesday night at the building on College Avenue where the boys — nicknamed Zeke and Zain by police — were found.

Attendees held candles and released balloons as they encouraged anyone with information to come forward.

Bronx Homicide Commander Lt. William Sean O'Toole is hoping to finally learn who beat and discarded the boys.

"What we want is someone who saw something, heard something, suspected something," he said.

O'Toole is also waiting for someone to come forward with a clue as to who the twins' mother is and if she had any role in their killings.

"What drove her to the point that she came back to the rear of the building and threw her babies out like garbage," he added.

The NYPD is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information in the case, which has been deemed a double homicide.

"We will not rest until we find and bring justice to these two innocent infants," said Adrienne Giunta, of the Bronx DA's Special Victims Division.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
