NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Police are searching for a man with a gun who opened fire during a fight on an MTA bus in the Bronx on Wednesday.

The NYPD released surveillance video Thursday of the suspect.
No one was injured in the shooting, but a bullet struck the ceiling of the Bx39 bus, police said.
It all started around 4:30 p.m., when police said the gunman began asking an 18-year-old passenger “interrogating questions” on the bus.
The teen, fearing for his safety, called his uncle and told him to pick him up at a nearby bus stop.

When the bus arrived at the stop at White Plains Road and Van Nest Avenue in the Van Nest section, the teen’s 35-year-old uncle held the rear door of the bus open and told his nephew to come with him.
That’s when the gunman and the uncle got into a physical struggle, police said.
During the struggle, the gunman’s firearm discharged, striking the ceiling of the bus, according to police.
The armed suspect then fled northbound down White Plains Road, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
