NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 34-year-old man was stabbed during a random attack on a Manhattan street early Wednesday and police are searching for the person they say is responsible.

Around 12:50 a.m., the victim was standing in front of 135 West 36th Street in Midtown when a man approached him with a knife, authorities said.
The suspect stabbed the victim once in the abdomen, unprovoked, leaving a deep wound in his stomach, according to officials.

After stabbing the victim, the man fled the scene on foot. EMS workers transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in critical but stable condition.
