NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Long Island sex offender was arrested Thursday for punching a 75-year-old man to the ground and kicking him in the face at an Upper West Side bank.

Police said Shane Long, 46, of Farmingdale, was arrested and charged with assault. Long is a registered sex offender following a 1994 conviction for sodomy and rape involving victims who were 13 and 12, records show.

The arrest came hours after the NYPD released video showing the victim entering a Capital One Bank at 72nd Street and Amsterdam Avenue just before 3 a.m. on Dec. 20.
Moments later, Long comes up and sucker punches him from behind, knocking him to the ground, cops said. The attacker then kicks the victim in his face as he lies on the floor.

The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was treated for a laceration to his eye.
The victim told investigators he doesn't know his attacker, according to the New York Post.
