VIDEO: Man pistol-whipped, robbed while walking home in Queens; suspect sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A thief pistol-whipped and robbed a man in broad daylight on a street in Queens last Friday, police said.

Video released over the weekend by the NYPD shows Friday morning’s attack at 89th Avenue and 218th Street in Queens Village.

The 24-year-old victim was walking home around 9:30 a.m. when a man came up from behind him and brandished a gun, police said.

The two got into a struggle, during which the man struck the victim in the head multiple times with the handgun.

Video shows the attacker repeatedly pistol-whipping the victim in broad daylight on a treelined street.

The thief stole $4,200 from the victim’s jacket pocket and fled, police said.

EMS transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was in stable condition. Police said he suffered bleeding and lacerations to his head.
