NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – A man was in critical condition with a fractured skull after he was repeatedly punched, shoved and dragged down a street in the East Village last week, police said Wednesday as they searched for two suspects.
The 46-year-old victim was ambushed by two men at the corner of East 4th Street and Second Avenue around 3:40 a.m. last Wednesday.
The men approached him from behind and began punching him in the face repeatedly, police said.
They then shoved him to the ground and dragged him on the pavement, according to police.

Disturbing video shows one man throwing the victim to the ground and then a second man doing the same. The second man then drags the victim across the street to the sidewalk as multiple cars pass.
The victim suffered a skull fracture and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

It’s unclear if the victim and his attackers had any contact before the assault or if it was entirely unprovoked.
The two suspects fled the area after the attack, police said. They’re believed to be between 25 and 35 years old.
