The NYPD released video of the assault Wednesday as they search for the man who threw the punch.
The 52-year-old victim was found unconscious outside the Fuego Típico Restaurant at E. 188th Street and the Grand Concourse in Fordham Manor on Friday night.
Police said the victim left the restaurant around 10:45 p.m. and was followed outside by another man, who put on a pair of gloves, positioned himself behind the victim and slugged him in the face.

Video shows the attacker walking up to the victim and knocking him to the ground before appearing to shout at several men nearby.
The victim and the suspect had no conversation or altercation before the assault, according to police.
The victim suffered a fractured skull, a broken cheekbone and bleeding on his brain. He was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
The suspect went back into the restaurant following the attack and was last seen leaving the restaurant later in the night, police said.
