VIDEO: Cops seek suspect who stabbed man in back, face with 'large' knife over subway bump

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released surveillance video Friday of a suspect wanted in this week’s brutal attack on a subway rider, who was punched and stabbed after bumping into the suspect at a Downtown Brooklyn station.

Video shows the suspect around the time of Tuesday evening’s attack at the Jay Street–MetroTech station.

Police said the 55-year-old victim was walking at the station when he accidentally bumped into the suspect around 6 p.m.

The suspect threatened the victim and then punched him in the face, police said. He then whipped out a “large” knife and plunged it twice into the victim’s back before stabbing him in the face.

The suspect fled the station, and the victim was transported to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

Police believe the suspect is about 40 years old.
