VIDEO: Thieves punch, shoot at Brooklyn deliveryman while stealing food, $5

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A pair of armed thieves punched and shot at a Brooklyn deliveryman while robbing him of food and $5, police said Tuesday as they released video of last weekend’s attack.

The 36-year-old victim was delivering food inside 501 Lefferts Ave. in East Flatbush around 9:20 p.m. Saturday when he was ambushed.

Two robbers brandished guns and punched him in the face before stealing his cellphone, food and $5 in cash, police said.

The deliveryman then chased after his attackers, one of whom shot at him, according to police.

Video shows the duo robbing the man in the entranceway of the building. Moments later, he's seen running after them while taking swings.

The victim was not struck by any bullets, and he refused medical attention at the scene.

The crooks fled on foot, police said.
