NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A parking dispute between a driver and a building maintenance worker on the Upper West Side Thursday evening ended with the driver running over the worker, video shows.
Moments before the crash around 7:30 p.m., the two men were arguing outside a garage on W. 89th Street because the driver was double parked and blocking the entrance.
Video obtained by WABC shows the driver of the white Nissan pulling away, only to reverse down the street, mount the sidewalk and drive into the worker.
The impact sends the worker crashing into a wall before the driver backs up and takes off the wrong way down the street, video shows.
The worker managed to get up shortly after being hit. He was hospitalized before being released Friday morning.
The Nissan was pulled over on W. 88th Street around 7:45 p.m. Police arrested the alleged driver, 35-year-old Amauris Nunez, who faces charges of vehicular assault and leaving the scene of an accident with injury, according to the report.
