NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police have deemed a deadly fire inside a Brooklyn apartment last month a homicide after investigators determined a woman was intentionally burned alive, authorities announced on Wednesday.

The city's medical examiner determined that 40-year-old Sugerys Ramirez died of thermal injuries from an intentional fire at her home on Van Siclen Avenue in East New York on the morning of Nov. 11.

Just before 4 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a residential fire where Ramirez's body was discovered, unconscious and unresponsive, inside of apartment after FDNY personnel had extinguished the blaze.

EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.

Ramirez's death was ruled a homicide.

So far, there have been no arrests made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
