NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 74-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was struck by an SUV in Bay Terrace on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the 2021 GMC SUV turned into Corporal Kennedy Street from 26th Avenue and struck the 74-year-old around 12:56 p.m. as she was attempting to cross the street's crosswalk, causing her to hit the pavement.
The 43-year-old female driver then struck the driver's side of a 2019 Nissan Sentra. That vehicle's 63-year-old driver at the time was stopped in the southbound lane of Corporal Kennedy Street, waiting for the red light.
Responding officers found the 74-year-old lying on the roadway in the crosswalk with severe head trauma. She was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Queens by EMS in critical condition.
The drivers were not injured in the ordeal, police said.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
