Woman attacked with stick, pushed into Bronx subway bench in attempted robbery

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 50-year-old woman waiting for a southbound 6 train in the Bronx last week was shoved with a stick and knocked into a bench by a would-be robber, police said Friday.

Cops said the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. last Friday inside the Third Avenue-138th Station in Mott Haven.

The suspect, unsuccessful in the robbery, then boarded the train and fled the scene.

The woman's condition wasn't immediately known.
