NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 41-year-old woman is in critical condition after her husband ran her over with a vehicle after getting into a dispute Friday evening, authorities said.

The incident occurred on East 16 Street around Avenue X in Sheepshead Bay at 5:36 p.m. when the driver, 34-year-old Myroslav Iakymovych, got into a dispute with his wife, the Daily News reported.
Iakymovych was slowly driving the vehicle with the passenger door open arguing with the victim. The woman eventually grabbed a hold of the passenger side door to stop Iakmovych from driving away as he continued to move the car, according to officials.
When Iakmovych accelerated, the victim lost her grip on the door and fell onto the street underneath the car. The passenger’s side tire ran over the victim causing serious trauma throughout her body, police said.
The victim was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn where she remains in critical condition.
Iakymovych was arrested at the scene and charged with assault, reckless endangerment, driving while intoxicated, among other charges.
