NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 67-year-old woman was killed and an 8-year-old girl was injured in a Brooklyn fire early Monday, authorities said.
Flames engulfed an East Flatbush home on East 92nd Street around 2 a.m.
According to police, both victims suffered from smoke inhalation and were taken to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County. The extent of their relationship wasn't immediately clear.
The child is in stable condition, but the woman did not survive, police said. Her identity has not yet been released.
The tragic fire in Brooklyn came just hours after another fatal fire killed a 1-year-old boy in Queens.
Investigations into both fires remain ongoing.
