NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A woman was repeatedly punched in the face during a failed purse-snatching on a SoHo street last week, police said Thursday as they released surveillance images of a suspect.
The 25-year-old woman was in front of 20 Greene St. just after 6 p.m. on April 10 when a man in his 20s tried to grab her purse from her shoulder.
The woman fought to keep her handbag, and during the struggle the man pummeled her in the face, police said.
He ultimately fled empty-handed. He was last seen headed eastbound on Canal Street, one block to the south.
The victim suffered minor injuries in the attack, police said.
