NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A mom and her young daughter were repeatedly punched in the face in a random subway attack, police said Friday as they released images of a suspect.

The 36-year-old mom and 10-year-old girl were aboard a northbound 5 train at the Simpson Street station in Foxhurst on the afternoon of Oct. 18 when a woman came up and started punching them.

The woman pummeled the victims in the face and mouth in a totally unprovoked attack, police said.

The suspect fled the train at the Simpson Street stop. Police believe she’s in her 40s.

The victims suffered pain and were taken in stable condition to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi.
