The 39-year-old victim was aboard a southbound 5-line train at the Lexington Avenue/59th Street station just before 9 p.m. when another woman got into an argument with her, police said.

The assailant—believed to be in her 50s—took out a boxcutter and slashed the victim across her forehead during the quarrel, according to police.

The suspect then fled the station on foot, police said. She was wearing a gray sweatshirt and tan jacket and carrying an orange backpack.

The victim was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
