The 38-year-old victim was sitting outside the store at 2:45 p.m. when a masked woman came up and slashed him in the face unprovoked, police said. The woman then used a sharp object to stab him in the body before snatching his handbag.

The woman fled on foot towards Barker Street with the bag, which held $375.

The victim was transported by EMS in stable condition to Richmond University Medical Center.
