NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD on Monday released a photo of a woman sought in a carjacking and assault on two police officers in the Bronx earlier this month.
At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, a 46-year-old male victim was inside of his black Audi Q5 vehicle in front of 1854 Cedar Ave. in Morris Heights when he was approached by two women, officials said.
When he was approached, the man exited his vehicle and the two women proceeded to enter it without permission then fled the location.
The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.
Shortly after, the women were operating the stolen vehicle in the vicinity of 435 Van Nest Avenue when unrelated to the first incident, two patrol officers attempted to conduct a car stop on the vehicle for an equipment violation.
When attempting to pull the car over, the vehicle refused to stop and intentionally collided into the police vehicle before fleeing the location, officials said.
The two officers sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.
Video surveillance determined that at approximately 11 p.m., the two women abandoned the vehicle in front of 4290 3rd Ave., police said.
Following an ongoing investigation, one of the women was apprehended on Sunday, June 11, and charged in regard.
Police are still searching for the second suspect, 19-year-old Aaliyah Mitchell.
