NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 23-year-old woman stabbed an Upper East Side juice shop worker nearly to death who offered her a free drink when her payment was declined, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Cha'la Jamison has been indicted on attempted murder, assault, attempted assault and burglary charges in the April 12 attack that left the 39-year-old man in critical condition, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said.

According to court documents and statements, Jamison entered the juice bar on East 61st Street and 3rd Avenue two hours before the stabbing spree, ordered a drink, and got into a fight with the worker when her payment was declined.

The worker told her to take the drink, so he could tend to another customer. Jamison began throwing items at the worker and knocking items to the floor. She threatened to return to the store to stab the worker, and she left with the drink.

Jamison returned, raced behind the counter, and grabbed a knife around 8:30 p.m., as the worker was cleaning at the back of the store, prosecutors said. She then went to the back of the store, where she stabbed the man in the hand, arm, neck and head before fleeing the scene.

She was arrested five days later. Police recovered a green bag containing clothing and accessories she was seen wearing at the scene of the crime, including a wig, a purse and shoes that appeared to be stained with blood.

The NYPD later executed a search warrant at her apartment and recovered additional clothing and accessories matching what she was wearing at the time of the incident.

"As alleged, Cha'la Jamison viciously attacked a juice bar employee over a declined transaction, leaving him on the ground and bleeding profusely," Bragg said in a statement. "This stabbing should not have happened and could have led to a tragic death."
