NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a woman accused of assaulting an MTA bus driver in the Bronx during a verbal dispute last month, authorities said.

Just before 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, the woman was with a young child when she approached the bus operator on the BX32 bus to ask a question in the vicinity of West 195th Street and Reservoir Avenue in Kingsbridge Heights, officials said.

A verbal argument ensued and the woman then sprayed the bus operator with an unknown substance in the face before fleeing on foot, according to the NYPD.

The bus operator was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
