'I need your purse': Woman with silver gun wanted in Queens porch robbery

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A woman with a silver handgun robbed a woman on the front porch of a Queens home, telling the victim “I need your purse” before making off with her belongings, police said.

The NYPD released images Tuesday of the suspect as they search for her in the July 2 robbery.

The 39-year-old victim was on a porch of a home near 111th Avenue and the Van Wyck Expressway in South Ozone Park when the suspect walked up around 6:40 p.m.

“I need your purse,” the woman said as she pulled out a silver handgun, according to police.

The victim tried to flee, but the thief grabbed her iPhone and wallet, which contained credit cards and $60 cash, police said.

The suspect, believed to be in her mid-20s, was last seen fleeing southbound on foot down the Van Wyck Expressway, according to police.

No injuries were reported in the robbery.
