NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for two women accused of kicking the glass out the door and attacking a worker during a robbery at a 99-cent store on the Lower East Side last month, authorities said Monday.
It happened at about 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, when the two suspects entered a 99 cent store located at 187 Clinton Street, police said.
Once inside, the suspect took store merchandise past all points of sale without paying, officials said.
A 32-year-old employee attempted to stop one of the suspects from leaving.
That suspect then proceeded to repeatedly punch the store employee in the head and kicked the glass front door of the establishment, causing damage.
The suspects fled the location on foot.
Video surveillance revealed that the two individuals were last seen entering the LaGuardia NYCHA Development located at 280 Madison Avenue.
EMS responded and treated the employee on scene.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
