LYNBROOK, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A 19-year-old man was killed early Tuesday in a three-car crash on Long Island that also injured three people, Nassau County police said.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was driving southbound on Ocean Avenue in Lynbrook just after midnight when his BMW sedan collided with a Nissan Pathfinder traveling on Peninsula Boulevard.

The force of the collision sent the BMW crashing into a Dodge Ram pickup truck that was stopped at a light on Ocean Avenue.

The BMW driver suffered “extensive internal injuries” and was rushed by Nassau County ambulance to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:25 a.m.

Two people in the Nissan—a 57-year-old man behind the wheel and a 51-year-old woman in the passenger seat—suffered minor injuries, as did the driver of the Dodge, a 39-year-old man. All three were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
