Man arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting woman in NJ motel

TINTON FALLS, N.J, (1010 WINS) — Police have arrested a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint in a New Jersey motel last week, NJ Advance reported.

The assault occurred on July 21 around 2:30 p.m. in Tinton Falls where officers were called to the unnamed motel for a report of a sexual assault.

The victim told responding officers that she was attacked at gunpoint by a man who entered her room, though the details of how he got in were not immediately available.

Along with sexually assaulting the victim, she told police he also threatened to rob her, authorities said.

A 31-year-old man, Kareem Lee, was arrested for the assault after an investigation, according to officials.

Lee was charged with robbery and aggravated sexual assault with an armed weapon. He is currently awaiting his detention hearing at the Monmouth County Correctional Institute.
