NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man who reportedly has dozens of prior arrests was busted Tuesday for sexually assaulting and robbing a 14-year-old girl in an attack at Manhattan’s Stuyvesant Town last Thursday.
Germaine Parham, 33, who is homeless, was arrested on a string of charges, including rape, robbery, predatory sexual assault, attempted assault, kidnapping, sex abuse and criminal possession of a weapon, the NYPD said.
Investigators believe Parham is the man behind the attack at the sprawling residential complex in the East Village on the morning of Jan. 29.
According to police, a 14-year-old girl was inside of a building at East 18th Street and First Avenue around 11:40 a.m. when the man sexually assaulted her.
He also stole her phone before fleeing the area on foot, police said.
She was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Parham has a lengthy criminal history with dozens of prior arrests, according to multiple reports.
