
MONROE, N.J. (1010 WINS) — An an intoxicated driver was charged after he fatally struck an 81-year-old passenger in New Jersey over the weekend, authorities said Tuesday.
At about 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, Brendan Haas, 33, was allegedly driving his Ford Edge while intoxicated when he struck a GMC Terrain that was turning onto Black Horse Pike near the intersection of Brookdale Boulevard and Route 42, Monroe Police said.
Antionette Hummel, the front seat passenger of the GMC, suffered serious injuries and was later pronounced dead,
An 84-year-old man driving the GMC also suffered serious injuries.
Two children in the Nissan Rogue also sustained unknown injuries, officials said.
Haas was charged with death by auto, driving while intoxicated and three counts of assault by auto, authorities said.
