Man robs Suffolk bank after failing to rob another: police

SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A man robbed a Suffolk County bank minutes after he tried but failed to rob another, police said.

The thief demanded cash from a teller at Bethpage Federal Credit Union on Route 109 in East Farmingdale at 9:42 a.m. The teller refused to comply with the man's demands, and the man fled the bank on foot.

Twenty minutes later, the man passed a teller a note demanding cash at Bethpage Federal Credit Union at Walt Whitman Road in Melville, police said.

That teller complied with the man’s demands and the man fled on foot.
