The former manager, 39-year-old Joshua Chisenhall, was indicted on second-degree theft by deception and second-degree computer theft charges, authorities said.

Chisenhall worked at AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care on Route 36 South in Hazlet where he allegedly ran the scheme for over a year, between Jan. 2020 and March 2021, stealing cash payments the shop received from customers and falsifying invoices to say the balance had been paid by credit card.

Chisenhall faces up to 10 years in prison if he is convicted.
