JERSEY CITY, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A vehicle was stolen and an attendant at a New Jersey parking lot was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday for the second time in two weeks, according to authorities.

The incident happened just before midnight at a Downtown Jersey City commercial parking lot located at 143 Christopher Columbus Drive.

The thief said he had a gun before stealing a BMW and the attendant’s personal items, Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said.

According to Wallace-Scalcione, on April 21, two cars were taken from the same lot in an armed robbery.

Three men forced the parking lot attendant to the ground at gunpoint, stole his cell phone, wallet and money from a cash register inside the booth, before driving off with a yellow BMW M4 and a black 2018 Audi Q5, officials said.

In both incidents, the gunmen took the parking attendant’s cell phone and cash, Wallace-Scalcione added.

No injuries were reported.

It appears that the same attendant was robbed in both incidents. Jersey City police did not say if the same suspects committed the robberies.

An investigation is ongoing.
