Vincent Damiano has been charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, said Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

On Nov. 22, a woman told authorities that she was sexually assaulted by Damiano when she was 17.

Robertson said the woman was interviewed by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit and described incidents of sexual assault that allegedly happened in Branchburg Township, Asbury and the Borough of Lebanon from May 2019 to July 2019.

Two days after her report, a second woman came forward to accuse Damiano of sexually assaulting her from the ages of 16 through 18. This victim was interviewed and she disclosed that the alleged sexual assault incidents happened in Branchburg Township and Asbury from July 2017 to July 2019.

As a result of the investigation, Damiano was arrested on Jan. 6 without incident, officials said. He was held at Somerset County Jail but has since been released after a detention hearing.

Anyone with information relating to the sexual assault investigation involving Damiano is asked to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes Unit at (908) 231-7100 or the Branchburg Township Police Department at (908) 526-3830.
