The 44-year-old Stow Creek Township resident, Nicholas L. Brozina, allegedly “inappropriately photographed” a child without her knowledge, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office.
Investigators also said Brozina had several other images of suspected child pornography.
Brozina was a teacher in the Salem County Special Services School District, but he is currently not employed by them. The photographed child is not a student in the district, authorities said.
Detectives were tipped off by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about the uploading of suspected child porn to the internet. A subsequent three-week investigation followed which led to Brozina’s arrest on Monday.
He was charged with two second-degree counts of endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree possession of child pornography and fourth-degree invasion of privacy.
“Mr. Brozina is currently not an employee of the Salem County Special Services School District,” Assistant Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Bates told NJ Advance. “For various reasons, we have been asked by those agencies to refrain from making public comments until their on-going investigations are completed. As always, our primary focus is on the safety and welfare of all our students.”
