JERSEY CITY, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A woman from New York has been charged after allegedly shooting three Jersey City police officers with a pellet gun Tuesday, officials said.

The woman, 21-year-old Averilyn Cabrera, faces multiple counts of aggravated assault of a police officer and weapons offenses, NJ.com reported.
The shooting occurred just before 4 p.m. on Martin Luther King Drive between Myrtle and Grant avenues just after cops broke up a disorderly group, officials said.
Three officers were shot despite the group dispersing without incident. The bullets were determined to be air/soft pellets. The officers were examined at Jersey City Medical Center where they were released without injuries.
Cabrera was arrested Thursday after she was taken into custody by Belleveille police for an unrelated incident after the Tuesday shooting.
She is currently being held at Hudson County jail awaiting her first court appearance and a detention hearing.
