The robbery occurred at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, at a BP gas station located at 1185 Merrick Avenue in North Merrick, Nassau County police said.

According to Robbery Squad Detectives, Jerald Gadsden, 31, and Heleena Velazquez-Krupp, 28, entered the gas station, approached the employee, displayed a pistol and demanded money.

The victim complied and opened the store register and gave Gadsden an unknown amount of money, officials said.

The duo fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.

An investigation determined that the suspects were driving a 2011 Honda Pilot on Hewlett Drive in North Woodmere when they were arrested without further incident.

Further investigation revealed that Gadsen was also responsible for the June 6 robbery of a BP gas station located at 85 North Central Avenue in Valley Stream.

Gadsden's charges include robbery and criminal use of a firearm.

Velazquez-Krupp faces robbery and criminal possession of a controlled substance charges.
