NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials launched an investigation after a body was found floating in Broad Channel on Long Island Tuesday evening, according to Nassau Homicide Squad detectives.
Authorities received a 911 call at around 5:40 p.m. for a body floating in Lawrence.

Members of the Nassau police, the marine and aviation bureaus, the Hempstead Bay Constable and Long Beach Fire Department, responded to the scene where the body was recovered at the scene, according to Nassau Homicide Squad detectives.
An investigation is ongoing.
