Man arrested for stabbing girlfriend with scissors, punching her mom on LI

COPPIAGUE, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- Officials arrested a man for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend with scissors, then punching her mother in the eye during a domestic dispute inside his Long Island home on Sunday, authorities said.

At about 10:20 p.m. Suffolk County police were called to investigate a domestic incident at the home of 42-year-old Ade Pickering located on North Strong Avenue in Copiague.

Pickering was arrested by detectives who said "an argument" was followed by the stabbing and assault.

The two victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities did not release the identities of the victims.

Pickering was charged with second-degree and third-degree assault.
