
ISLAND PARK, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Authorities arrested a woman accused of assaulting another woman inside a convenience store on Long Island Tuesday morning.
Just before 9 a.m., two women got into a verbal argument while at a convenience store located at 152 Long Beach Rd. in Island Park, detectives said.
According to officials, Melissa Smith, 49, threw a hot cup of coffee into the victims face and then punched her in the face.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital.
Smith was arrested without incident.
She was charged with assault and will be arraigned on Wednesday.
