
STONY BROOK, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 76-year-old Suffolk County woman was found dead inside a submerged car in the waters off Long Island on Sunday morning, county police said.
The woman, identified as Harriet Farish, of Stony Brook, was discovered inside a 2020 Kia Telluride near the Stony Brook boat ramp on Shore Road around 6:45 a.m.
Suffolk police officers responding to a 911 call located the submerged vehicle. Farish was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s unclear how the car ended up in the water. Suffolk County's homicide squad is investigating her death.
