ARLINGTON (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones spoke with reporters outside the Cowboys locker room following the team’s 25-22 loss to the Cardinals.

Here is some of what Jones had to say.

ON THE CARDINALS GAME PLAN

“They were well prepared. Their coach and their staff were outstanding. They did a great job of attacking us and our fronts. They compromised early what we were trying to do to protect Dak. Compromised our ability to run. We went in with, obviously, run the ball. We had to get outta that pretty quick. So they just played an overall game. That is the type of team – they will be playing, and very likely could play us – that's the type of team that we'll be playing every time we line up in the playoffs.”

ON THE NO-CALL FUMBLE IN THE FOURTH QUARTER

“Well, they didn't rule it a fumble. That's why you save a timeout if you can. But of course we were trying to keep something left on that clock to get it done. But that's the risk you take. I wish we had had it left to use, could have made a big difference, obviously.”

ON WHAT THEY CAN TAKE FROM THIS GAME

“The good news is, we play a game like this, you see what it's gonna be like, every play is gonna be like, every play is a playoff play. And we were playing like that out there. That was a very intense game. And boy, our guys fought all the way back, came back, had plenty of fight. Very disappointing, but the positive is that's the kind of game that will prepare you for the playoffs right there.”

ON THE COSTLY PENALTIES DURING THE GAME

“Expected those penalties. Just to show you what I read right before we kick off, what I read was ‘major concern: this group calls a lot of ticky-tack, they call a lot of penalties, and that's gonna be a concern for us today.’ And of course some of those plays it would've made us not look like, physically, we were struggling. Some of those would've looked a lot better if we could have kept some of those we got called back. That that probably has a big impact on how this thing looked, but it was a tough physical game. Their defense was very physical. We saw it throughout the game. And I was proud of the way we came back at the end, and we had everything out there that we want to play for. But we didn't take a big step back here at all, as far as this team getting ready for the playoffs. And I'm not just looking for something good. This is the kind of expectation that you’d be ready for.”

ON MICHAEL GALLUP’S INJURY

“He’s out for the year. (Is it an ACL?) Yes. That’s absent an MRI. But that’s just the initial diagnosis.”
