DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys had a difficult decision awaiting them at the end of this month, when the 2021 NFL Draft kicks off on April 29th.
One of those decision could involve Florida tight end Kyle Pitts, who has soared up draft boards in recent weeks, and is seen by many to be the second best overall player in this year's class.
To make things even more interesting, according to multiple reports, Cowboys Jerry Jones is said to be infatuated with the 6-foot-6 240-pound athletic marvel... maybe even enough to make a move for him on draft night.
On a recent appearance on the Rich Eisen show, Pitts was asked about Jones' interest in him as a player, as well as his contact with the Cowboys through the draft process.
"I actually, I'd rather not read the press clippings...until the day comes I won't worry about that," Pitts said. "Someone did call me and tell me about that. It's kind of, it's an honor for him to say that. Dallas is a great team... if I could have the opportunity to play for (them) it would be a great thing."
Pitts, who grew up an Eagles fan, also admitted to growing up an Eagles fan... something he joked would be an interesting twist of fate in his household should the Cowboys select him come draft night.
"That's kind of, I would say, the oxymoron, me growing up an Eagles fan and then having the opportunity to play for the Cowboys," Pitts said. "So that would be a hard time getting some of my family jerseys because they're die-hard Eagles fans. That would be something funny."
Last season in Gainsville, Pitts was unstoppable, catching 43 passes for 771 yards and 12 touchdowns, with 91-percent of those catches resulting in either a TD or first down, with zero drops.
