DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Bobby Wagner played two seasons under Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn when Quinn held the same position with the Seahawks Seahawks in 2013-14. Now that Wagner is free, is it possible that the duo could reunite in Dallas?
According to ESPN's Ed Werder, the Cowboys have contacted the free agent linebacker about joining the organization this offseason, and they'll stay in touch over the weekend.
Per the report, it's still to be determined if the sides can work out the financial components of a deal with the Cowboys up against the salary cap and Wagner reportedly having a "massive market," per ESPN's Jordan Schultz.
Earlier this week, the Cowboys wouldn't tender contracts to free agent linebackers Luke Gifford and Francis Bernard, leaving them with only two linebackers under contract next season - 2021 draft picks Micah Parsons and Jabril Cox. Leighton Vander Esch and Keanu Neal are among their 19 unrestricted free agents this offseason.
