Free agent running back Tony Pollard is expected to be ready for the start of training camp after he suffered a broken leg in the playoffs, Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones told reporters, including Nick Eatman and Kyle Youmans of DallasCowboys.com, at the Senior Bowl in Indianapolis on Tuesday.

But which team's camp will Pollard be in come late July?

Jones hinted that the organization plans to use the franchise tag but stopped short of committing to use it on Pollard.

"It's not out of the question, but we haven't determined whether we'll do that or not," Jones said of tagging Pollard. "More than likely we'll use our tag. Not necessarily on Tony, but we'll use our tag."

Pollard is the odds-on favorite to be tagged, with tight end Dalton Schultz not too far behind in the pecking order. The Cowboys have until March 7 to decide if they'll place the tag on any player.

Pollard would cost $10.1 million under this year's tag, while Schultz would cost around $13 million since he was already tagged in 2022.
